January 21st, 2011 - James and Sara met each other on a blind date. Dinner was awkward, to say the least. But there was definitely some chemistry. They both knew every word to Elton John's 'Tiny Dancer' after-all.
March 28th, 2011 - After getting "friend-zoned" pretty harshly by Sara, James decided to pull out all the stops. They had lunch in downtown Dallas, went bowling, watched the sun set at the lake, then saw a drive-in movie. It was obvious he was way into her. So she decided to give it a try. They started dating that very same night.
May 2011 - After a particularly busy week for James that included multiple over-night shifts at the fire station, Sara missed him desperately. Suddenly, it became so obvious: she loved him. And she said so... over text... like a dweeb. But he said it back, so it's cool.
October 2011 - James took Sara to the Dallas Arboretum. They walked through all the gardens and paths, when finally they stopped to sit at a bench. Sara pointed to a spot across the garden and said "wouldn't it be amazing to get married here?" in which James replied "yeah I wouldn't mind marrying you here." There was an awkward silence because James unknowingly dropped the first offical 'marriage bomb' of their relationship.
December 15th, 2012 - They got their first place together! It was a total dump and looking back they wonder how they didn't catch some kind of exotic disease. But it was their first home together and they loved it.
January 13th, 2013 - They got a dog. His name is Jackson. They treat him like their child even though he destroys pretty much everything.
February 12th, 2013 - James took Sara to one of the nicest dinners imaginable at Rick's Chop House. When they brought out the dessert, a beautiful engagement ring was in the middle with "Will You Marry Me?" written on the rim in chocolate. Sara bawled like a small child and said "YES!"
And now we are here... planning the wedding. We moved out of that crummy apartment and James became a Paramedic. Life is pretty awesome. And come March 8th, 2014, we will be at the beginning to a whole new time-line of antics waiting to be had. |
